Permian 7-on-7 in Frenship, TexasThe Permian 7 on 7 team has qualified for the West Texas 7-on-7 Championship after making to the championship game in the Frenship Tournament June 14. The Panthers had a chance to win-it-all, but fell short by one point in overtime. The Tigers handed Mojo a 42-41 loss in the final game.

Permian began play Saturday morning with a tough loss to Lubbock, 27-20. Not to be discouraged, the Black-and-White responded with a pair of two-touchdown victories. Midland Lee ended up on the short end of a 28-14 game, and Hereford fell 34-21 to the Panthers.

Permian and Frenship will both qualify for the West Texas Championships that will be played July 12th at the Texas Tech campus. Every Tuesday the Panthers have games out at Ratliff Stadium. Permian will host their own 7-on-7 tournament at 9:00 a.m. on June 28.

The 2008 Permian 7-on-7 team is coached by Billy Rumbaugh. The players include: Trevor Adams, Andrew Bell, Shai Biggerstaff, Alan Castillejos, Aaron Dominguez, Chris Edwards, J.D. Gray, Cody Houser, Ruben Johnson, Jerome Leija, Chago Leija, Romeo Maldanado, Chase McBride, Ryan McDowell, Joey Mendez, Bryan Morris, Linvel 'Peanut' Mosby, Richard 'Biscuit' Murry, Brian Nunez, Steven Pipes, Lambert Riley, Ryan Rumbaugh, and Brennan Welch.
